WP U19s show character in Potch

The DHL Western Province Under-19 team scored a crucial 45-36 win over the Leopards U19s in Potchefstroom on Friday, after trailing by two points at half-time.

The Leopards led 26-24 at half-time, but the the WP U19 side showed tremendous character to outscore their opponents by 21-10 in the second half.

WP's tries were scored by schoolboy winger Dewald Naude, centre Michal Hazner, scrumhalf Pieter Schoonraad, No.8 Ramone Samuels (who scored a double) and flanker Luke van der Smit.

Flyhalf Chris Smith did not miss a single conversion attempt – kicking six from six – and he also added one penalty goal.

This win, the WP Under-19s' third of the season, sees the Nazeem Adams-coached side move into the Top Four of the Under-19 standings for the first time this season, just four

points behind the third-placed Golden Lions who are yet to play this weekend.
