Western Province Rugby has paid tribute to the late Johan Swart, a stalwart administrator at Kuilsrivier RFC and a key figure during the unification of the club.

Swart passed away on Wednesday morning (November 20) after a long illness, leaving behind his daughter Juanita.

WPRFU President Thelo Wakefield told wprugby.com: “Myself and Johan worked very closely during the unification of Kuilsrivier RFC – a crucial time in our game and for our club.

“Johan was a fantastic person and I learnt a lot from him – he had the new South Africa at heart, especially when it came to rugby and I consider myself fortunate to have worked alongside him during an exciting time in rugby in our province.”

WP Rugby would like to use this opportunity to extend its condolences to Juanita, the rest of the Swart family and friends.
