Former DHL Stormers, DHL Western Province and Boland player David Hendricks, referee Daniel Fortuin and Primrose Rugby Club stalwart Yusuf Joe Taliep have all sadly passed on.
Hendricks, Fortuin and Taliep all made an impact in their own way on the rugby landscape and will be sorely missed.
Hendricks was an all-action loose forward who made a big impression on and off the field in his career and has sadly passed away at the age of 42.
Fortuin was an experienced referee who was a reliable and well-known official at club and provincial level, he was 52 when he passed away.
Taliep represented Primrose with pride and distinction and was 46 when he passed away.
Western Province Rugby Football Union President Zelt Marais sai that his thoughts are with the family and friends of Hendricks, Fortuin and Taliep at this difficult time.
“Our deepest sympathy and heartfelt condolences to the Family and Friends of the bereaved. May the Almighty comfort and strengthen the Families and Friends during this difficult time of mourning.
“May David Hendricks, Daniel Fortuin and Yusuf Joe Taliep’s Souls Rest in Eternal Peace and light perpetual shine upon Them,” he said.
