The Western Province Rugby Football Union (WPRFU) is saddened to learn of the passing of past Chairman of SK Walmers RFC Mohamed Ebrahim.

Ebrahim was a renowned sports administrator, serving as President of the Western Province Cricket Association (WPCA), Chairman of Western Cape Cricket and a Director on the Board of Cricket South Africa.

Ebrahim passed away at the age of 63 in Cape Town on Wednesday.

WPRFU President Zelt Marais said that his thoughts are with the Ebrahim family at this difficult time.

“The news of Mohamed Ebrahim’s passing is sad indeed. In years gone by, we saw each other more in Johannesburg and at the airports than in Cape Town. My deepest sympathy and heartfelt condolences to the Ebrahim family and friends.

May the Almighty comfort and strengthen the family during this difficult time of mourning. May Mohamed Ebrahim’s soul rest in eternal peace and light perpetual shine upon him,” he said.

Ebrahim will be laid to rest at the Mowbray cemetery.
