Latest: Rhodes hearing postponed

PUBLISHED: October 31, 2013

The disciplinary hearing for DHL Western Province forward Michael Rhodes, scheduled to take place on Friday, has been postponed until further notice.

Rhodes was cited on Monday for a dangerous tackle in the Absa Currie Cup Final against the Sharks in Cape Town on Saturday and was scheduled to appear before a SARU judicial committee, but the hearing was deferred until further notice as he had to attend to prior commitments.

Rhodes was penalised in the second half of the match for placing his arm around Sharks hooker Bismarck du Plessis' neck in a maul and maintaining his grip for a few seconds, which is in breach of law 10.4 (e) relating to dangerous tackling.

Adv Donny Jacobs has been appointed the Judicial Officer.
