DHL Western Province and DHL Stormers forward Michael Rhodes will appear before a SARU judicial committee on Thursday for a dangerous tackle in the Absa Currie Cup Final against the Sharks in Cape Town last year.
The disciplinary hearing was initially set to take place in the week following the match, but had to be rescheduled twice, resulting in a postponement until January 2014.
Rhodes was cited for a dangerous tackle in the second half of the Absa Currie Cup Final when he placed his arm around Sharks hooker Bismarck du Plessis’ neck in a maul and maintained his grip for a few seconds. This
was in breach of law 10.4 (e) relating to dangerous tackling.
The hearing will take place in Cape Town on Thursday at 10h00. Adv Donny Jacobs will serve as the Judicial Officer.
