The eight finalists for the WPRFU Score Club Sevens tournament who will battle it out at Newlands on Saturday have been confirmed.

The quarterfinals will get underway at 12h00 on Saturday at Newlands with Hands and Hearts up against Young Peoples in the first match.

The other three quarterfinals will see Hamiltons take on Goodwood, Stellenbosch go up against Tygerberg and Durb-Bell play Gardens.

The final will take place at 16h20, with all matches streamed live on the Cape Rugby TV Facebook page.

The second round of action in the group stage took place at Hamiltons Rugby Club, Goodwood Rugby Club and Faure Stadium in Paarl over the weekend, with strict COVID-19 protocols observed.

There was some top Sevens action at all three venues, with some DHL Stormers players in attendance to cheer the teams on.

In the Paarl/Stellenbosch group, Maties finished unbeaten with six wins and a draw, while Young Peoples took the other final spot, with their only defeat coming against the table-topping Stellenbosch side.

Hosts Hamiltons finished with seven wins from seven matches to top the Southern group, while Gardens also went through with just the single defeat to the unbeaten Hamiltons team.

Durb-Bell also won all seven of their matches to finish on top of the Northern grup, with Tygerberg edging Bellville out by one log point to make it into the finals at Newlands.

In the Helderberg group it was Hands and Hearts that finished unbeaten, with Goodwood sneaking into the finals after finishing one log point ahead of Eersterivier.
