WPRFU joins stand against gender-based violence

PUBLISHED: September 4, 2019

The Western Province Rugby Football Union (WPRFU) urges the rugby community in the Western Cape to join the gathering outside Parliament on Thursday and take a stand against sexual and gender-based violence in our society.

Following an alarming number of shockingly violent incidents against women and children in recent times, there will be a gathering at the gates of Parliament at the intersection of Plein and Roeland streets from 09h00 on Thursday.

Members of the WPRFU executive will be in attendance, as we lend our voice to the growing outrage at the ongoing violence perpetrated by men against women and children in South Africa.

This gathering will see members of the public and civil society come together to make themselves heard. All rugby clubs are encouraged to show their support for this important event.
