DHL Western Province are the only unbeaten team left in the SuperSport Rugby Challenge after five rounds of action.
Coach John Dobson’s team have won all five of their games thus far this season which has put them comfortably in control of the South Section of the competition.
Their campaign started with a hard-fought away win against the EP Kings in Port Elizabeth, which was followed up by wins against the Border Bulldogs at City Park, the Boland Cavaliers away from home in Velddrif and SWD Eagles at DHL Newlands before they secured their second win against the EP Kings at City Park on Saturday.
All five of their victories have come with a bonus point for scoring five tries or more, which has given them a healthy 11-point advantage over their nearest challengers on the South Section standings – Border Bulldogs.
In those five games they have run in 29 tries at an average of almost six per game, whilst conceding just 15 tries.
Their next assignment will be against the Bulldogs in Mdantsane on Sunday, as they look for their sixth consecutive victory of the season.
Following the pool stages of the competition the top eight teams will play in quarterfinals, semi-finals and a final to determine which team claims the inaugural SuperSport Rugby Challenge title.
