Looking forward to Week Two of the WPRFU Score Club Rugby 7’s competition, there are some exciting fixtures lined up at Goodwood Rugby Stadium on Saturday.
With 14 teams still unbeaten in the tournament, the jostling for positions has already started. Building up to the scheduled knock-out round on 12 November, the competition format will see only the top 16 clubs in each pool qualifying for the finals.
Clubs will all be desperate to end highest possible in their pool to secure favourable draws for the finals.
Title sponsors of this event, Score Energy Drinks, as well as partners Cape Rugby TV, Media 24, Good Hope FM, Gilbert, CTC Sports, TJ’s Lekkabraai, Melomed and Thorburn Security have all partnered with WPRFU to present and deliver a Club Rugby event like no other.
Entrance is R20 which includes a complimentary Score Energy Drink. There will also be match day programmes for sale. Kids under 12 get in free.
In Pool A, Brackenfell will look to continue their unbeaten run so far and remain top of the pool with their upcoming fixtures against Elsies River, Young Stars and Langa respectively. The other stand-out fixtures in this pool will see St Georges take on Strand as well as Macassar in exciting local derbies. UWC will battle Strand and Bellville will face Macassar.
In Pool B, Maties, Helderberg, Belhar, Vics, Kuilsriver and Kraaifontein will all try to retain their unbeaten status.
The key fixtures in this pool will see Maties tackle Kuilsrivier in the final match of the day preceded by a mouthwatering tussle between Vics and Belhar.
Earlier in the day Kylemore will want to return to winning ways against Belhar and Rangers will get an early 2017 feeling of Super League B action when they face off against Kuilsrivier and Helderberg respectively.
Clubs are well aware that no opponent in this tournament can be underestimated and every point collected will go a long way in charting your road to the final. This makes for exciting Sevens action in every fixture!
