The WPRFU Score Club Rugby 7’s heads into the knock-out phase of the tournament at Goodwood Rugby grounds on Saturday.
Belhar (Pool A) and Brackenfell (Pool B) are the only unbeaten teams remaining after four weeks of action and deservedly top their respective pools. Victorians (Pool C) and UWC (Pool D) were the other pool winners.
In Pool A, Maties, Kuilsriver and Vineyards qualified to join Belhar in the knock-outs while in Pool B Collegians, Helderberg and Union Milnerton will join Brackenfell in the qualifiers.
In Pool C, False Bay, Franshhoek and Scottsdene won their way to the finals with Victorians while in Pool D, Young Peoples, St Georges and Hearts also qualified with UWC as pool winners.
Action will kick off at 12h00 on Saturday with some scintillating clashes lined up. Belhar will open proceedings against Hands and Heart on the A field with Young Peoples versus Kuilsriver at 13h36 and Maties versus St Georges on the B field at 12h54 being a window of exceptional club Sevens action.
The day promises to be a spectacle of club sevens rugby with two tournament dream teams to be announced on the day. These teams will together with the WP Sevens Team, a WP Invitational team and the tournament winners join the Blitboks on 18 November 2017 at Goodwood sportsgrounds for a day of high quality Sevens.
The DHL Western Province Currie Cup team members will also join the event with the Currie Cup trophy and supporters are invited to come and have their pics taken with their heroes.
Gates open 10h30 and all entrants will receive their free Score Energy drink upon entry. Entry is R20 per adult, children under 12 R10 and parking R20 per car.
