WP Rugby paid tribute to former WP Rugby player and Springbok wrestler, Clifford “Cliffie” Etzebeth, who passed away in a vehicle accident on Sunday.

Etzebeth played 25 games for WP Rugby between 1977 and 1981,in the engine room at both prop and lock.

“Cliffie” was known as a hard man of WP Rugby when he played, but he had a soft heart, a warm friendly character and deep love for WP Rugby and the game. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends.” said Thelo Wakefield, President of WPRFU.
