The DHL WP Disa team suffered its first loss of the 2013 SARU Southern Regions tournament, going down 24-27 to Eastern Province in Margate on Wednesday.
WP, who began the week with a 20-6 victory over SWD, lost out by the narrowest of margins in a tight tussle, but, once again, gave it their all against their opponents from Port Elizabeth.
Both teams scored two tries each, but EP’s better goalkicking record saw them emerge victorious on the day.
The KwaZulu-Natal Wildebeest XV and Eastern Province will now battle it out for top honours at the Southern Sub-Union tournament on Friday.
Meanwhile, the DHL Western Province Disa’s (the 2011 winners of this tournament) will take on Griquas (who lost to the KZN Wildebeest XV on Wednesday) in their last-day clash tomorrow.

09h30 – Free State v Boland (Plate Final)
