This past weekend was jam-packed with club rugby in Western Province with Friday night games supplementing the usual Saturday action.

Friday night lights saw Durbell thump NNK 54–10 and Brackenfell pick up an invaluable 36–12 win over Sir Lowrians. That is the fourth win of the season for the Super League A newcomers and they have put themselves in with a great chance of securing their place in the 2017 competition.

In Saturday action, Tygerberg were left to rue missed opportunities as they went down 26–27 to Hamiltons at Florida Park. Belhar defeated SK Walmers 23–15 whilst False Bay were far too strong for Primrose.

Hamiltons and False Bay still lead the way atop the Super League A standings with seven wins from seven. They are closely followed by Tygerberg and Stellenbosch.

In Super League B action on Friday night, Young Peoples defeated Kraaifontein 27–16 whilst Villager picked up a morale-boosting 23–10 win over Collegians at Brookside.

Saturday’s games saw a number of telling results. Hamlets showed why they are league leaders as they defeated Bellville 31–27 away from home. They next face Union-Milnerton on Saturday in a potential title decider.

Elsewhere, Violets defeated Strand 29–21, Pniel defeated Macassar 26–21, while Helderberg picked up a 27–26 win over Hands & Heart.

In Super League C, Langa caused a major upset when they defeated Young Stars 31–7 at the Green Point Track. Not to be outdone, Scottsdene defeated league leaders Rangers 28–21 to cap a weekend of upsets in Super League C.

Kylemore kept pace with the winners after a 24–14 win over Hamediehs. Franschoek defeated Raithby Universals 23–17, Blue Jets lost to Lagunya 21–10, Strand United overcame Elsies 16–14 and Silverleaf triumphed over Masiphumelele 23–20.

In the City League, Caledonian Roses recorded a huge 50–5 win over Temperance/Cities at City Park. Silvertree defeated the Western Zebras 16–3, Police defeated Progress 46–14, and Manenburg Rangers defeated Young Ideas 32–17.

In Southern League action, Young Wesleys beat Thistles 13–10, and Noordelikes defeated Eersterivier 22–20.

The Northern League threw up some interesting results over the weekend. Stel/Cor defeated Whistling Wheels 30–12, Blue Stars defeated Van Der Stel 26–22, All Saints were far too strong for Khayalitsha as they ran out 44–8 winners whilst Atlantis thumped Delft 55–12.
