The 2016 WP Club Rugby season drew to a close this weekend with some stunning match-ups.

In Super League A, Durbell secured third position on the log with a well earned victory over Kuilsriver 68–36 to consign the visitors to be relegated to Super League B.

Hamiltons defeated UCT 39–19 to secure fourth spot on the log, Maties will end the season as runners-up behind champions False Bay after a 61–0 mauling of Primrose. Vics defeated NNK 26–25 in a close encounter while SK Walmers easily defeated UWC 50–5.

In Super League B, Union-Milnerton were crowned champions after a 71–0 victory over Macassar at Theo Marais Park. Pniel Villagers ended the season as runners-up after they defeated Collegians 24–15 at Lentegeur in an exciting encounter.

Hands & Heart pipped Kraaifontein in a 44–40 thriller in a local Kraaifontein derby, Goodwood went down to Helderberg 7–57, Strand went down at home to Young Peoples 21–57, St Georges picked up a 37–25 victory over Violets at Chukker Road while Bellville easily defeated Villagers 38–20.

In Super League C, Rangers were crowned Super League C champions with their 39–31 defeat of Paarl. Franschhoek United claimed a promotion play-off place with a 38–11 win over Masiphumelele in Noordhoek. Kylemore went down 25–12 to Langa.

Raithby Universals beat Scottsdene 17–10 as both end middle of the table and commence their preparation for 2017. Strand United beat Lagunya 19–5, Hamediehs defeated Blue Jets 37–25 while Young Stars ended in sixth place with their default victory against Silverleaf.

The Promotion League is shaping up to be four horse race with the top three winning to Super League C. Vineyards remained unbeaten with their defeat of Busy Bees 58–20, Stel/Cor defeated Silvertree 38–22 in Stellenbosch to cement 2nd spot with All Saints and Manenberg Rangers also still fighting hard for promotion.

The City League 2nd Round saw Police extend their league atop the standings with a 45–10 win over Temperance Cities. Elsewhere, Progress defeated Watsonia 15–0.

In the Northern League second round, Van der Stel defeated Atlantis 52–22, whilst Blakes picked up a default win over Delft.

In the Southern League second round, Bishop Lavis maintained their top position with a 27–19 away win at Noordelikes. Rocklands went down 14–15 at home to Peninsula.
