It has been a remarkable season for the Bay who have gone from strength to strength despite losing some key names to injury along the way.

Tygerberg defeated UWC 35–17 to maintain their push for top honors in the league while Hamiltons unexpectedly went down 26–41 to Vics and placed their season in danger of petering out with a whimper.

SK Walmers claimed derby honors with a dominant 41–3 win over Primrose at Rosmead Avenue. UCT returned to winning ways with a thumping 51–22 win over Kuilsriver after the hosts led 17-0 at half time while Brackenfell’s stellar debut season in the top league continues with a fine victory over Belhar 34–20 at Accordian Park.

In Super League B, hosts Villager defeated Hands & Heart 41–22 at Brookside, Collegians defeated Violets 35–11 in their derby clash while St Georges picked up another valuable win as they defeated Young Peoples 25–10 at Gustrouw in the Starnd.

Pniel Villager leaped to the top of the log with a workmanlike performance against the Strand running out winners a 34–20. The good season for Bellville continued as they comprehensively beat hosts Helderberg 37–21 at Charles Morkel taking them to fifth on the log, six points below log leaders Pniel Villager. Kraaifontein heaped more misery on the struggling Super League B new comers Goodwood when they thumped them 47–22.

In Super League C the title race is heating up with a number of key results over the weekend. Log leaders Paarl defeated Masiphumelele in Noordhoek 27–20 to maintain their lead while the second placed team Rangers kept their push for league honours alive with a narrow 27 –26 win over Raithby Universals. Young Stars unexpectedly slipped further down the pecking order with an unexpected loss to Scottsdene 26–32 at the Green Point Track which see them slipping down to sixth place. Another contender for league honors Kylemore were shocked by Franschhoek United 21–24.

Elsewhere in Super League C bottom dweller Silverleaf defeated Blue Jets 25–24, Langa thumped Strand United 40–5, and Hamediehs defeated Elsies River United 16–0.

The Regional Competition also concluded on Saturday with the top three clubs in all three regions winning through to the Promotion League.

In the City League, Busy Bees won the league after defeating Tech-Tuine 35–25 ending on 46 log points. Manenberg Rangers ended second with 44 points and Silvertree qualified as third placed club in the league ending on 39 points.

In the Southern League Young Wesley won the league with 44 log points and remained unbeaten.

Retreat ended as runners up after defeating Thistles 28–6 and Eersterivier just scraped home in third place with 37 log points.

In the Northern League, Stel/Cor thumped Strand Pioneers 62–7 to claim the third place on the log with 39 points. Vineyards remained unbeaten and won the league with 54 points. Judging on their form in the first round of competition, Vineyards will stake a huge claim for promotion to Super League C if they maintain their form.

All Saints defeated Blakes 41–10 to claim the 2nd place in the league and as in 2015 they once again qualified for the Promotion League.

In the Paarl Region, Young Gardens defeated Violets 31–25 while Lower Paarl thumped Perel United 74–0.
