Will Durb-Bell call the Police?

PUBLISHED: March 1, 2013

Durbanville-Bellville will travel to Bobbies Park in Bloemfontein to take on Bloemfontein Police in a must-win Cell C Community Cup, Pool B clash on Saturday afternoon.

Lock Douw Wessels and flanker Andrew Picoto are missing because of injury, but they have been replaced by Johan Nienaber and WP Vodacom Cup training squad member, Jody Reyneke, respectively.

Durbanville-Bellville assistant coach Bobby Joubert told wprugby.com: “We will have to match Police up front and physically on defence.

“Our discipline needs to be very good. We have a young team, but good signs are starting to come from each match which is very exciting.”

Durb-Bell went down 26-35 to Police in Pretoria in the first week of action in the Community Cup, before beating African Bombers 45-26 last Saturday. They will be targeting a full-house of five points this week to stay in the hunt for the tournament play-offs over Easter.

This will be SK’s second match of the competition, having had a bye week in Round One (last month). The top two teams from the four pools in the Community Cup qualify for the televised play-offs, scheduled for Outeniqua Park (in George) from March 28 to April 1.
