The cream of local schools rugby talent came together at Bellville High for the latest round of DHL Western Province age group trials on Tuesday.
Following three opening rounds of trials at City Park in recent weeks, the next round saw the DHL Western Province age-group teams tested against their counterparts from Boland on Tuesday.
The wider squads for DHL WP U18, DHL WP U16, DHL WP U16 girls and DHL WP U18 girls teams were be in action at Bellville High, showcasing their skills as they continue preparations for their various upcoming Youth Weeks.
The Coca-Cola U18 Craven Week and Coca-Cola U18 Academy Week will be hosted by Western Province Rugby Football Union at Paarl Boys High from July 8-14.
DHL Western Province will, along with the Blue Bulls and Golden Lions, field an additional invitational side in the Coca-Cola U18 Craven Week this year.
The Coca-Cola U16 Grant Khomo Week will be hosted at Hoƫrskool Diamantveld in Kimberley from July 1 to 6.
The SARU U16 and U18 National Girls week will be held at Jeppe Boys High in Johannesburg from June 24 to 29.
The final round of trials will take place in Oudtshoorn on June 15-16, when all of the wider squads for the DHL Western Province age-group teams will participate in the Coastal Tournament which also features teams from SWD, Boland and Eastern Province.
The final squads for the various national youth weeks will be announced following the final round of trials in Oudtshoorn.
