DHL Western Province U19 took their winning streak this season to six games with a 43-14 victory against Leopards U19 at Brookside on Friday.

The home side scored eight tries, with six coming in the first half of a resounding victory to continue their unbeaten run.

DHL Western Province U19 opened the scoring as a counter-attack from scrumhalf Labib Kannemeyer saw him find his halfback partner Wian van Zyl on the switch, with the flyhalf racing away to score.

The next try came from hooker Schalk Erasmus, who peeled off the back of a driving maul to barge his way over and they followed that up with a third as fullback Marco Labuschagne slipped through to make it 19-0.

The bonus point was secured after just 20 minutes as wing Christian Guetang went over in the corner to give them a 24-0 advantage.

Flank Jesse Johnson crossed for the fifth try which would give the hosts a dominant 31-0 advantage at the half-time break.

The hosts were reduced to 14 men early in the second half when Guetang was shown a yellow card for a dangerous tackle, which saw his team forced to defend for an extended period and the visitors eventually took advantage as replacement hooker Stefanus Mare got over for a try from a maul.

Guetang and centre Luelo Scott got over for further tries for the hosts, with the visitors scoring a late consolation try.
