A star-studded line-up of international sporting legends will participate in the 2015 takealot.com Cape Town 10s, which takes place on February 6-7 at Hamilton’s Rugby Club in Green Point.
In its seventh year of existence, the Cape Town 10s has officially been endorsed by the Western Province Rugby Football Union and is an event for young and old… and jam-packed with fun and entertainment.
Some of the big-name players who will be competing in the 2015 Legends team include:
– Christian Cullen: Former New Zealand International fullback and joint ninth highest Test try-scorer of all-time.
– Carlos Spencer: Ex-All Blacks player and current head coach of the EP Kings.
– Bob Skinstad and Robbie Fleck: Co-founders of the Cape Town 10s who will be there on the field and, of course, hosting the event!
– James Dalton: 1995 Rugby World Cup-winning hooker.
– Breyton Paulse: Former Springbok wing and member of the 2004 Tri-Nations-winning Bok side.
– Butch James: 2007 Rugby World Cup-winning Springbok flyhalf.
Former Proteas captain Graeme Smith and Cape Cobras all-rounderJustin Kemp have been assigned to manage the Legends, providing tactical game-plays and team advice.
Other legends set to join in on the action include former Scottish players Andy Beattie and Matt Proudfoot (the current DHL Stormers forwards coach) and local legends Hottie Louw and Anton van Zyl – both of whom played lock for DHL WP and the DHL Stormers.
Look forward to two days packed with rugby and netball action – with 100 rugby teams and 50 netball teams from 11 provinces and abroad. With up to 18,000 spectators, live music from some of SA’s top bands, delicious food from Food Lovers Market, a massive beer tent as well as play areas and activities for the kids, the festival is set to be the event of the summer…
