A DHL Western Province team will travel to Johannesburg later this week to take on the Lions in a friendly on Friday night.

The team, coached by DHL WP U21 and Vodacom Cup coach John Dobson, will feature a number of Province’s exciting Under-21 and Vodacom Cup prospects, as well as two or three DHL Stormers players who are short on game time.

DHL Stormers players Scarra Ntubeni, Chris Heiberg and Nic Groom are expected to be named in the team to make the trip to Johannesburg.

“The friendly is of great importance to us as we prepare for the Absa Currie Cup, as it provides crucial game time out of competition phase and an opportunity for many of these players to put their hands up for inclusion in the squad for the domestic competitions later this year.

“In addition, there are three DHL Stormers players that will benefit from the game time, having sat out for a while,” said coach Dobson.

The DHL WP team will be announced later this week.
