The third round of the 2016 WP Club Rugby season saw some thrilling action across the different leagues.

In Super League A, UCT failed to get a winning start to the season when they came unstuck against a brilliant Durbell.

False Bay defeated Belhar 39–23 at Accordian Park to remain unbeaten while Tygerberg proved far too strong for Brackenfell as they ran out 41–6 winners.

SK Walmers turned a deficit at half time around to record a solid victory over Vics 23–19 whilst Hamiltons defeated Sir Lowrians 36–21. Primrose picked up valuable points with a good win of 29–23 over Kuilsriver.

In Super League B action Union-Milnerton kept up their unbeaten start to the season with a convincing 33–10 win over Violets at Chukker Road. Strand RFC and Collegians played out to a thrilling 26–26 draw, whilst Hamlets overcame St Georges 30–18 in Mamre.

New comers to the league Goodwood continued their slow start when went down 26–28 to a resurgent Villager outfit. Macassar beat Hands & Heart 31–28 whilst President’s Cup finalists Kraaifontein were too strong for Helderberg, running out 32-24 winners.

In Super League C, Rangers continued their march to promotion with a 34 – 10 win over Blue Jets at Surrey Estate. Young Stars remain hot on their heels after they picked up a 21–18 win over Masiphumelele in Noordhoek whilst fellow pace-setters Paarl overcame Strand United 28–13.

In the Southern League, Young Wesleys defeated Peninsula 16–11 whilst there were big wins for Thistles and Retreat respectively.

In the Northern League, Van Der Stel were far too strong for Strand Pioneers, running out 62–22 winners in Strand. Vineyards picked up a good win over Stel/Cor as they won 29–16.

Meanwhile in the City League, Western Zebras defeated Watsonia 43–26, Silvertree overcame Manenburg Rangers 19–14, and Temp/Cities went down to Police 20–33.

In the Paarl Region, Lower Paarl beat Simondium 19–14 whilst Windmeul United went down to Paarl Rangers 32–44 in an entertaining clash.
