We are in Stellenbosch for the Carling Currie Cup clash between DHL WP and Windhoek Draught Griquas this afternoon.

0 – Kick-off at the Danie Craven Stadium. DHL WP secure possession and a 50-22 gives them an attacking line-out.

4 – What a start from DHL WP in Stellenbosch. Strong maul from the forwards before Tim Swiel puts through a chip and Tristan Leyds claims it with one hand to score the opener to make it 7-0.

10 – Another powerful maul and the forwards go over for the second try, with hooker Jacques van Zyl coming up with the ball. DHL WP came to Stellenbosch today to play. That’s 14-0.

13 – The tries keep coming at the Danie Craven Stadium. This time it’s a counter-attack and Tristan Leyds goes through a gap before giving it to Juan de Jongh and he is over for the third try.

18 – Griquas hit back with a try of their own on a counter-attack to make it 21-7.

20 – Griquas win a breakdown penalty in the 22 and kick to the corner.

22 – DHL WP win the ball back and clear it. Defensive pressure from DHL WP gives us the bonus point. An intercept from hooker Jacques van Zyl who gives it to Angelo Davids and nobody is catching the gas-man. That makes it 28-7.

25 – Another incredible counter-attack as DHL WP come from their own 22 to score a contender for try of the season. Some quick hands see captain Tim Swiel finish it off.

28 – DHL WP keep the pressure on as Griquas are forced to defend but the visitors come up with a breakdown penalty.

30 – The visitors hit back with a try of their own as centre Sango Xamlashe gets over for their second to make it 35-14.

32 – Griquas with some possession and they win a scrum penalty.

38 – Another try for the Kimberley side as wing Munier Hartzenberg goes over out wide to make it 35-19.

40 – Half-time at the Danie Craven Stadium where DHL WP have scored five tries to take a 35-19 lead into the break.

42 – Second half underway in Stellenbosch, good defensive pressure forces Griquas to kick long.

44 – First points of the second half for DHL WP and it is also the first penalty of the match as Tim Swiel splits the uprights to make it 38-19.

46 – Griquas get a penalty and kick to the corner, but great maul defence wins a scrum for DHL WP. Griquas win a scrum penalty and take it quickly, but then lose it at the breakdown so DHL WP can clear.

48 – DHL WP on the attack again and a grubber through from Petersen is carried back over the tryline by Griquas so the home side have an attacking scrum.

50 – Scrum penalty for DHL WP this time, so Swiel kicks more points to make it 41-19.

53 – Griquas doing some kicking as they look for field position and the TMO says Ali Vermaak shown a yellow card for foul play.

58 – Griquas score from the resulting maul to make it 41-24.

60 – DHL WP win a scrum penalty near halfway so Swiel takes aim at the poles again, but he is just short.

63 – Griquas win a breakdown penalty and kick out just short of the 22. They go wide and go into the 22 but Hartzenberg is tackled into touch.

67 – The visitors come from theirown half, with wing Luther Obi getting on the outside to score and make it 41-31.

71 – DHL WP go on the attack as they are back to 15. They go into the 22 but Petersen loses it forward.

74 – Griquas on the attack as they go into the 22, but some great defence under pressure forces a knock-on.

77 – The visitors come up with a late maul try and this one is going down to the wire. Can DHL WP hold on for the win?

80 – Another penalty for Griquas in the 22. The hooter goes and they have one chance to win it. Obi scores and the conversion gives the visitors a 43-41 win.
