The DHL WP Under-19s suffered just their second loss of the 2012 season, going down 25-27 to the Sharks in a hard-fought encounter in Durban on Friday.
The Nazeem Adams-coached side fought back from 3-14 down at half-time to lead by 25-20 going into the final five minutes of the match.
However, a converted try in the 68th minute by Robert du Preez Jr – who helped himself to 22 points (two tries, three conversions and two penalties) – saw the result end in favour of the home side; the WP U19s” second last-gasp loss of 2012.
WP”s tries were scored by replacement front rower Brianton Booysen, captain Freddie Kirsten and centre Justin Gunther, whilst flyhalf Tommy Allan kicked two conversions and two penalties.
The result means that the Bulls moved back into first place on the Provincial Under-19 log, just ahead of the DHL WP U19s on points” difference.
