Injury update (vs Golden Lions)

PUBLISHED: September 26, 2012

Two injuries rocked the WP camp on Wednesday morning ahead of the match against the Lions at DHL Newlands.

Announcing his team for the weekend the coach confirmed:

Fullback/wing Gio Aplon has a Grade One ligament injury and will be out for a minimum of two weeks but potentially longer.

Flyhalf Gary van Aswegen also injured his ankle at practice in what looked like a serious injury. He is currently undergoing a scan, but the coach believed it to be a serious injury to the same ankle that kept him out previously.

No.8 Nick Koster, who is back at practice, but not yet ready for Currie Cup action, will look for game time with his club to play himself back to match fitness and contention.

Flanker Rynhardt Elstadt (rib) was also not considered ready for Currie Cup action yet.
