John Dobson’s DHL Western Province Vodacom Cup Invitational team had a good hit-out against SK Walmers on Saturday morning, with the Men in Blue & White running in eight tries.
In a match played at a windy UCTRFC, the WP selection – made up of some top club players in the Province region – faced off against their Community Cup opponents in a series of chukkas. No penalties or conversions were taken.
The WP team scored eight tries and conceded six and Dobson commented: “It was a good hit-out for us and we learnt a lot from the match.
“There were some exciting players on both sides, it was the first step in a process and I thought it went well.”
