Flyhalf Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu will lead a potent DHL Western Province U21 team in their opener against Hollywoodbets Sharks U21 at City Park on Saturday.
The captain is one of 11 players in the matchday squad who have represented the senior DHL Western Province side in the Currie Cup, while Feinberg-Mngomezulu, scrumhalf Imad Khan and lock Connor Evans also have DHL Stormers caps to their names.
The SA Rugby U21 Cup clash between the coastal rivals kicks off at 13h00 on Saturday at City Park.
Khan and Feinberg-Mngomezulu will look to spark a backline which also features Luke Burger at fullback, with centre Damian Markus set to make an impact from the replacements bench.
Junior Springbok captain Paul de Villiers links up with Louw Nel and Armand Maritz in the loose trio, while Evans and hooker Lukhanyo Vokozela feature in a powerful tight five.
Head Coach Jono van der Walt said that it will be important for his team to find some cohesion in their opening game.
“We know we have some incredibly talented players in this side and they have all put in a lot of hard work to get to this point.
“Hopefully we can find some fluency in our game and impose ourselves in what is one of our two home games,” he said.
