The DHL Western Province Under-21 team suffered a disappointing 6-27 loss to the Sharks in Durban on Friday, their first defeat on the road in 2012.
The WP U21s led 6-3 at half-time in poor weather conditions at Mr Price Kings Park, but conceded three second-half tries (from failing to properly control Sharks kick-aheads in the wet) to slump to a fourth defeat of the season.
However, the Men from the Cape are still in third position on the log and very much on track for yet another semifinal place.
The John Dobson-coached team will face up to the Free State Cheetahs at Florida Park next Saturday (kick-off 15h30), having beaten the Men from Bloemfontein by 36-31 back in mid-August.
