The DHL Western Province Vodacom Cup XV turned in an accomplished performance against the Boland XV in Wellington, winning a four-chukka warm-up match by 62-0.
The WP selection – made up mainly of club players in the Western Province region – scored 10 tries to nil in the Wellington heat, the match having been changed into four 10-minute chukkas due to the extreme weather conditions.
Right-wing Chevandre van Schoor opened the scoring early on with a speedy dash down the right flank and he scored a second five-pointer later in the first chukka as the temperature soared to over 40 degrees.
Outside centre JP Lewis, flanker Justin Benn (two), inside centre Janco Gunter, flanker Eital Bredenkamp (two) and left-wing Sinethemba Mapaqa all crossed for tries too, whilst fullback Adrian Roberts kicked five conversions.
