PUBLISHED: August 24, 2018

DHL Western Province U21 claimed a 30-26 victory against Vodacom Blue Bulls U21 in Pretoria on Friday to make a winning start to their title defence.

Flyhalf Jordan Chait scored 20 points on his own on the way to a hard-fought win away from home for Head Coach Jerome Paarwater’s team.

DHL Western Province U21 made a fast start, through an early Chait penalty and a try from wing Nico Leonard.

The home side scored two quick unanswered tries to take the lead, but their advantage was cut down to 14-13 at the break as Chait kicked another penalty just before half-time.

DHL Western Province U21 went back in front through the boot of Chait early in the second half and never gave it up.

Further tries from Chait and wing Marko Labuschagne saw the visitors claim a tough 30-26 win in the end to get their national title defence off to a winning start.
