DHL WP U20 forced to change

PUBLISHED: March 24, 2023

There are three changes to the DHL Western Province U20 starting line-up for their SA Rugby U20 Cup clash with Leopards U20 in Potchefstroom on Saturday.

Scrumhalf Imad Khan is in Ireland with the DHL Stormers squad and regular captain Paul de Villiers is making his debut for the senior DHL Western Province team in the Currie Cup on Sunday.

As a result the team will be led by lock Hennie Sieberhagen, with FC Fourie at scrumhalf and Jamie Ricketts at openside flank, while the only other change sees wing Thaaqib Ryland come in after featuring from the replacements bench last week.

The clash with Leopards U20 kicks off at 11h00 on Saturday at Olen Park in Potchefstroom.

Following consecutive wins, DHL Western Province U20 Head Coach Norman Jordaan said his team are focused on ending their campaign on a high.

“We have seen steady improvements from this group and that is why we kept the changes to a minimum this week.

“Hopefully we can continue on the upwards trajectory we have been on and finish the season with a good performance away from home,” he said.
