The DHL Western Province Under-19 team finished off their 2014 Absa Under-19 Provincial league campaign with a 27-20 win over the Sharks U19s at DHL Newlands on Saturday.
The DHL WP U19s scored three tries to two but were unable to secure the all-important four-try bonus point which would have given them a home semifinal next weekend.
Instead, the Province Under-19s, who finished in third position on the log this season, will now travel to Bloemfontein to take on the Free State Cheetahs Under-19s, who collected a bonus point win against the Lions to secure second place.
Centre Ryan Oosthuizen and Heinrich Buhr crossed for tries for the DHL WP U19s, as did flyhalf Ernst Stapelberg, who also kicked two conversions and two penalties to end with a points haul of 15 on the day.
