Nazeem Adams, the DHL WP Under-19 head coach, has announced an unchanged 23-man squad to take on the Platinum Leopards on Saturday, August 4 at Olën Park (Potchefstroom) at 11h00.
The DHL WP U19s are on a high after their hard-fought, but deserved 20-16 win over the Vodacom Blue Bulls at DHL Newlands last weekend and coach Adams has wisely not tampered with his team.
“I thought we did very well against a very good Blue Bulls team (on Saturday),” said Adams, whose side fought back from a 6-16 deficit against the Bulls to eventually clinch the victory.
“Aside from one chance we missed, when a player was unlucky to lose the ball over the tryline, we took our chances on attack and were clinical in our finishing.”
Speaking about the challenge of facing the Leopards in their own backyard, Adams added: “At home I would say the Leopards are about 10-15 points stronger.
“I think the Leopards are similar to the Bulls in that they played a forward-based game and, like I said, they’re much, much stronger at home.”
Both the Province U19s and U21s will be action in Potchefstroom on Saturday, in the curtain-raisers to the Leopards v Border Bulldogs Absa First Division Currie Cup clash.
