DHL Western Province U19 scored nine tries in their 62-15 bonus point victory against Eastern Province U19 in Port Elizabeth on Friday.
A dominant second-half performance saw them pull away from the home side to record their ninth win in 10 games this season, which also returns them to the top of the standings.
DHL Western Province U19 struck early as inside centre Cornel Smit crossed for the opening try. The teams then exchanged penalties, but the hosts were able to reduce the gap to 10-8 with a try of their own shortly afterwards.
Hooker Shane Farmer was next to cross the tryline for DHL Western Province U19, which saw them take a 15-8 lead into the half-time break.
The visitors were first to strike in the second half as well as scrumhalf Jondre Williams converted his own try to take their lead out to 22-8.
The bonus point try came from blindside flank Cobus Wiese, and that was followed soon afterwards by another try from outside centre David Brits as DHL Western Province U19 started imposing themselves on the opposition.
Wiese picked up his second try before Eastern Province U19 managed to respond with a try of their own, but that would be the last points for the home side as Wiese notched his hat-trick to bring up the half-century before No.8 Juarno Augustus and wing Nico Leonard put the seal on a comfortable victory.
