DHL WP U19 face Leopards at City Park

PUBLISHED: October 5, 2018

DHL Western Province U19 will face Leopards U19 at City Park on Saturday in their last league game of the season.

Regardless of the result in a match that kicks off at 10h00 on Saturday in Athlone, DHL Western Province will finish in fourth place on the standings.

They are currently six log points behind third-placed Xerox Golden Lions U19 and 10 log points ahead of fifth-placed Toyota Free State U19.

As a result Head Coach Nazeem Adams’ team will be out to fine-tune their game ahead of what will be an away semifinal on Saturday, October 20.

Adams has made a number of changes to the team that beat Eastern Province U19 last week, as he takes a look at all of his options ahead of the play-offs.

The DHL Western Province U19 coach said that while this game has little bearing on the log, his side will still have a lot to play for as they look for their sixth win of the season.

“We would like to take some winning momentum into the knock-out phase of the competition, so this game against the Leopards U19 is vital from that point of view.

“There are a number of players that will be keen to make an impression, so we are looking forward to a hard-fought game at City Park,” he said.
