The DHL Western Province Under-16 team made it two from two at the 2013 Coca-Cola Grant Khomo Week, with the youngsters in Blue & White beating EP by 34-22 on Tuesday.
The Cape-based side were in fine form from the kick-off against Eastern Province, as they capitalised on the opposition’s mistakes and backed their pace and skill on attack.
Province led 31-8 at half-time, as they ran in five tries in an excellent first-half display, before Eastern Province staged a spirited second-half comeback at Vanderbijlpark”s Isak Steyl Stadium.
EP scored two tries to nil in the last ten minutes of the second half, but WP”s impressive burst in the opening half had given them enough of a lead going into those closing stages of the game.
WP”s tries were scored by inside centre Taigh Schoor (who scored a hat-trick yesterday), left-wing Keenan Abrahams, fullback Ryan Muller, right-wing Moegamat Cassiem-February and scrumhalf Jondre Williams.
Flyhalf George Lourens kicked three conversions, with Williams adding a second-half penalty, as WP added to Monday”s convincing 50-12 win over the Leopards.
* Meanwhile, the Blue Bulls outclassed the Golden Lions by 42-14, as they took major steps towards contesting the unofficial final, potentially against fellow unbeaten side, DHL WP, on Thursday.
In other matches on Tuesday, SWD, Border, Namibia and KwaZulu-Natal also continued on online casino their winning ways by registering back-to-back victories.
