DHL Western Province picked up a 43 – 34 victory against the Leopards in Potchefstroom on Saturday.

The action started straight away with the Leopards scoring an early converted try by fullback Rhyno Smith. This was quickly followed up with a penalty to the Leopards bringing the score to 10-0.
DHL Western Province hit back quickly with a try by Beyers de Villiers successfully converted by Scott van Breda. Henko Marais for the Leopards then earned himself a yellow card for tripping a DHL Western Province player, after which Khanyo Ngcukana scored for the visiting team helping them to a lead of 4 points against the home side.
Smith then converted a drop goal through the poles but DHL Western Province countered with a try by Grant Hermanus to maintain their lead by 8 points.
Hermanus scored again for the DHL Western Province for the bonus point try just before half time.
DHL Western Province were then able to accelerate their lead with another try by replacement scrumhalf Freddie Muller. Leopards hit back with two tries by Redelinghuys and Smith (once again) which brought the score to 36-27 to the visiting side.
Jean Kleyn scored for the DHL Western Province shortly after and Jaco Hayward of the Leopards ran over the line for the home side’s bonus point.
Full time resulted in a 43-36 victory for the DHL Western Province against the Leopards in Potchefstroom.
