DHL WP injury report – October 8, 2012

DHL Western Province team doctor, Dr Arthur Williams, released an injury report – on Monday – after the team’s clash against the Vodacom Blue Bulls at the weekend.

Flank Tyrone Holmes is out of this coming Saturday’s meeting with the 070-684 Toyota Free State Cheetahs, whilst back row colleague Rynhardt Elstadt will miss the closing stages of the season.

Williams also reported on Gio Aplon’s ankle injury, as well 070-331 as niggles to Jean de Villiers and Deon Fourie.

The full DHL Western Province injury report:
– Flank Tyrone Holmes (broken nose): Out for ten days. Had an operation this (Monday) morning.
– Flank Rynhardt Elstadt (rib cartilage): Out for the remainder of the 2012 season. Surgery could be an option, but it is not necessary at this stage.
– Flank/hooker Deon Fourie (slight hamstring niggle): Nothing serious at all, just sat out training this morning.
– Wing/fullback: Gio Aplon (ankle): Has completed his rehabilitation – he is no longer in a moon boot and did some straight-line and sideways running on Monday. Will know more tomorrow (Tuesday) about his chances of playing against the Cheetahs.
– Centre Jean de Villiers (slight hamstring niggle and a bit of swelling on his knee): Nothing serious, just managing his workload.

The DHL WP team – to face the Cheetahs – will be named on Wednesday afternoon.
