DHL WP injury report – October 15

PUBLISHED: October 15, 2012

DHL Western Province have released an injury report ahead of this coming weekend’s Absa Currie Cup semifinal meeting against the MTN Golden Lions.

DHL WP injury report – Monday, October 15 (2012):

– Hooker Tiaan Liebenberg (back): Picked up a knock on Saturday, he will be out for this week. He has been referred to a specialist to determine the exact extent of the injury.
– Lock Andries Bekker (right big toe): Suffered the injury in the first half of Saturday’s match. Definitely out for this week. He will also see a specialist this week.

* Meanwhile, WP coach Allister Coetzee also revealed that veteran scrumhalf Bolla Conradie had joined up at WP training as emergency back-up to incumbents Nic Groom and Louis Schreuder.

Said Coetzee: “We didn’t see the need to disrupt the Under-21s, and Bolla indicated that he was available to come and train with us.

“He’s an experienced campaigner and he knows our systems. He is here in case of emergency – should anything happen to Nic or Louis.

“I’m not 100% sure about the (tournament) regulations should we need him to play (in the event of an injury, etc), but he’s mainly here just to help out at training and he was able to join us on short notice.

“Like I said, I don’t want to disrupt the Under-21s ahead of their semifinal this weekend, so Bolla will train with us regardless if he does or can play (for us). Louis and Nic are both fit, it’s just about having three scrumhalves available at training in what is a specialist position.”
