This year will see the Currie Cup kick off earlier than before, with 15 teams (the 14 SARU provincial teams and Namibia) playing each other once each with seven games at home and seven games away in the first round.

DHL Western Province will start their campaign by hosting the Vodacom Blue Bulls on April 9 and conclude the first round by travelling to Windhoek to face Namibia on July 23.

The competition will then be split into the Currie Cup Premier Division and the Currie Cup First Division, with the six South African Super Rugby franchise provinces and the next three teams with the highest number of log points going through to the Premier Division and the remaining six teams contesting the First Division.

At that point the competition will start afresh, with log points from the single round not carried through as DHL Western Province compete in the Premier Division with the final round before the play-offs taking place on October 1.

The Under-21 Currie Cup will feature seven teams who will play a single round with the DHL Western Province U21 team’s first fixture on July 23, while the Under-19 Currie Cup will consist of the same seven teams as the U21 tournament, with the DHL Western Province U19 team’s first game on June 25.

The Western Province Rugby Football Union will host two of the Coca-Cola Youth Weeks, with the Coca- Cola Craven Week U13 and Coca-Cola Grant Khomo U16 Week both being held at Paarl Gymnasium from 4-8 July.

The Coca-Cola U18 Craven Week and Coca-Cola Academy Week will both take place at Kearsney College in Durban from 11-16 July, while the LSEN Week for Special Schools will be held at Afrikaanse Hoër Seunskool in Pretoria.
