DHL Western Province suffered two defeats in Day Two of the George Premier League Sevens on Sunday, with the team eventually bowing out in the Plate semifinals.
DHL WP began their campaign in George with a 26-26 draw against the Sharks (who they would, again, later meet in the tournament), before beating Eye of the Tiger 43-7 and then going down, narrowly, to Kaizer Chiefs (all on Day One).
They still managed to qualify for the Cup quarterfinals, where they lost 17-19 to Paul Treu's Kenyan national team, before losing in the Plate semifinals to the Sharks later in the day.
Ruan Mostert scored a try in all but one match in George, with captain Stefan de Villiers kicking well at goal throughout and Armien Bailey and Iewan Bartels scoring tries in their unfortunate Plate semifinal loss.
