The DHL Western Province Emerging team continued to stamp its authority in the 2014 Southern Amateur Provincial Championship in Humansdorp, as they booked their place in Friday’s final with a second competition win on Wednesday.
Defending champions DHL Western Province, who also won the 2012 tournament, defeated their Cape rivals Boland by 30-12 on Wednesday to remain the only unbeaten team in the competition – along with SWD.

SWD, meanwhile, delivered a strong display all around on Wednesday to thump Border Urban 43-12 – setting up a rematch of the 2013 final in Saldanha, which the WP Emerging side won by 28-19.
Wednesday’s round also proved to be successful for Eastern Province Urban and Rural following disappointing first-round defeats, with EP Urban edging EP Invitational 26-22 and EP Rural defeating Border Rural 20-8.
EP Urban will meet EP Rural in the Plate Final on Friday, whilst Boland will go up against Border in the third- and fourth-place play-off, and EP Invitational and Border Rural will contest the seventh- and eighth-place play-off.
The Cup Final, between WP and SWD, will get underway at 12h00 at Vosloo Park.
