Week Seven of the 2015 WPRFU Club Rugby season saw just four fixtures in the Super League A take place, with UCT out-gunning Villagers at Brookside by 65-0.
This was a very one-sided affair and the students can now take a well-earned rest ending on similar log points with Maties (31) at the top of the table. SK Walmers lost to a rampant Hamiltons at the Green Point Track by 19-41, with Hammies also retaining their unbeaten record in 2015 so far.
Sir Lowrians fought gallantly in their battle with Cell C Community Cup champions Durb-Bell who ran out 19-13 winners in this evenly-matched game.
St Georges were unfortunate to lose their game at Gustrouw losing 24-25 in a very close contest with the hosts losing this contest with a last minute penalty to Villager that was converted to clinch the win.
In Super League B, the top of the table battle is becoming hotly-contested with three teams still unbeaten. With NNK taking a break this week, Kuilsriver and Union Milnerton scored bonus point victories over Young Peoples and Macassar, respectively. At Kuilsrivier, the home team demolished a brave Young Peoples by 48-36 in a game that resembled Seven-a-side rugby at times.
Union Milnerton ran away with Macassar beating them easily by 46-13 at Theo Marais Park. Brackenfell surprisingly ran out easy winners against Collegians at Brackenfell by 31-11, Bellville easily beat hosts Franschhoek 47-24, Hamlets narrowly beat Raithby 13-11 at Mamre and Hearts lost a close game to Violets at Eikendal by 12-13.
Pniel Villagers finally hit their straps by running away with Rangers in Pniel beating them 73-13, running in eleven tries in the process.
In Super League C, Masiphumelele shocked the more fancied Elsies River United at Elsies Park beating them 10-0 in a closely-fought encounter.
Kraaifontein continued their good form and still top the log with a good win over Blue Jet winning by 22-12. Paarl inflicted the second loss of the season for Scottsdene beating them 23-20, Goodwood stayed in contention for league honors with a win over Silvertree at Malta Park, running out winners by 25-9. Young Stars beat Stellenbosch Coronations 18-13, Northerns lost to Strand United by 23-31 and Strand beat Langa online casino 20-14 at Langa Stadium.
In the City League competition Hamediehs jumped to the top of the log with a well-deserved win over Progress 34-15 at City Park. This was possible due to the unexpected draw between Manenberg Rangers and Tech Tuine that played out to a 13 all draw at Primrose Park and Busy Bee beat the bottom of the log Perseverance 45 to 7. Callies ran out winners in a close contest beating hosts Watsonia 16-10 and Young Ideas beat Temp-Cities 24-17 at Langa Stadium.
In the Northern Region, Kylemore retained their position near the top of the log with a good win over Atlantis 27-25. Khayelitsha beat Delft 17-7.
In the Southern League Region Young Wesleys lost to Peninsula 11-19, Retreat and Titans played out to an exciting draw at Fairmount High School 27-all, Rocklands lost to Lagunya by 24-33 at Rocklands and Whistling Wheels ran out comfortable winners over Strand Pioneers beating them 38-11.
In the Paarl League Vineyards scored a runaway victory over Lower Paarl 53-17 and Paarl Rangers lost to Simondium at Daljosafat 15-27.
In the Simonsberg Region Pumas confirmed their top of the log position with a good win over Lwandle beating them 13-7, Morning Star scored a convincing win over Constantia beating them 36-10 and Khayamandi beat Lanquedoc 15-11.
