PUBLISHED: August 21, 2015

Week 15 of the 2015 Western Province Rugby Football Union (WPRFU) Club Rugby action saw some very one-sided affairs take place on Wednesday.

Durb-Bell easily beat Victorians 30-17, Maties kept SK Walmers scoreless with a fine 31-0 performance, UCT totally outclassed Primrose 48-0 and False Bay ran away with things against UWC (winning 45-9) at the UWC campus.

In the previous weekend’s action, Belhar were shocked by Villagers who picked up much-needed log points to chase off the relegation ghosts as they won 12-10.

False Bay beat Vics by 36-19, Durb-Bell ran away with the struggling Helderberg by 59-5 at Charles Morkel Stadium, Primrose also picked up much needed log points beating St Georges 15-6 in a tight tussle at Rosmead while Sir Lowrians lost out narrowly to the highly fancied UCT losing by 26-33.

Hamiltons beat hosts Tygerberg at Florida Park in a very exciting game winning by 24-15. The game was very close with Tygerberg not converting their scoring opportunities.

In Super League B action, meanwhile, Kuilsrivier all but clinched the Super League B title with a fine display of defense as they kept out the highly motivated NNK at Jan Burger Sports Complex in Parow (going on to win 20-16). Kuilsriver scored the winning try with five minutes left in a match that truly displayed the beauty of rugby in a stunning game witnessed by a large crowd.

In other action, Brackenfell easily beat Hand & Hearts 46-3 at Brackenfell. Hamlets beat the inconsistent Pniel Villagers 66-8 in Mamre, Rangers beat the more fancied Violets 22-16 in Surrey Estate, Collegians went down gamely against visitors Union Milnerton by 15-20, Young Peoples ran out 34-24 winners over Bellville in a display of running rugby in Bellville South and Macassar scored a deserved 27-17 victory over hosts Raithby.

In Super League C, Young Stars scored an unexpected win against the high riding Scottsdene winning by 13-8 in a tight tussle, Strand United lost 3-13 to Masiphumelele, Silverleaf narrowly lost 24-31 to Blue Jets and Strand scored an easy 46-9 victory over Stel Cor.

In the Promotion League, log leaders Busy Bees continued their quest for promotion with a good win over Van Der Stel at Langa Stadium, winning 35-22, Lagunya surprised Hamediehs 8-5, Kylemore scored valuable points with a 19-12 win over Rocklands and the fairytale season for All Saints continued when they beat Callies 20-12 in a hard-fought match at Noll Avenue.

In the Northern League, Blakes easily beat Atlantis scoring 45 points in the process. In the City League, Progress scored a good win over Watsonia winning 30-15.
