PUBLISHED: May 18, 2018

Fullback Craig Barry and hooker Bongi Mbonambi will start for DHL Western Province in their SuperSport Rugby Challenge encounter with the SWD Eagles at the Bridgeton Sports Grounds in Oudtshoorn on Sunday.

Both players will make their first appearance of the season, as DHL Western Province look to continue their unbeaten start to the campaign, in a match that kicks off at 15h00 on Sunday.

There are just two changes to the backline, with Barry at fullback and Justin Phillips starting at scrumhalf, which means that Herschel Jantjies and Tristan Leyds are set to make an impact off the replacements bench.

In the forward pack Mbonambi will pack down in the front row alongside Kwenzo Blose, who makes his first start of the campaign at loosehead prop, and Neethling Fouche, while Johan du Toit moves to lock and Jaco Coetzee and Chris Massyn join the loose trio.

DHL Western Province Head Coach John Dobson said that after their bye, his team want to put together a convincing performanc in Oudtshoorn.

“It was good to be able to regroup during the bye and the players are looking forward to another festival in Oudtshoorn.

“Last year our game at the Bridgeton Sports Grounds was a tough one, so we know that we will have to raise our standards considerably to meet the challenge on Sunday,” he said.
