The third week of 2015 club rugby action in Western Province was a quiet one, with only one Super League A game taking place in which Hamiltons beat Primrose at Rosmead by 35-10.
In Super League B, Bellville continued their good 2015 form with a victory over Violets (winning 28-18), Collegians beat Raithby Universals 27-16 and Brackenfell took five points from Rangers in Surrey Estate.
In Super League C, Scottsdene showed good form in beating their hosts Langa by 24-17, while Strand United ran out winners against Paarl at the Abbatoir by 15-5.
In the City League competition, Busy Bees retained their unbeaten record with a well-deserved 22-12 win over Police. Callies downed Young Ideas 24-20 in a thriller at Noll Avenue, with the game being in the balance until the last minute. In a classic Stellenbosch Derby, Van Der Stel ran out deserved winners against Blakes 26-15, with backline player Terrence Greeff once again impressing with his form.
In the Southern Region, Eersteriver easily beat Peninsula 5512 and together with Young Brothers and Rocklands remain unbeaten in the league at this point.
In one-sided affairs in the Paarl, the teams of Lower Paarl and Vineyards ran out comfortable winners against Paarl Rangers and Riverstones, respectively.
Looking ahead to this week’s action, SK Walmers will take on UCT at the Green Point Track on Wednesday night and Stellenbosch will host St George’s at Danie Craven Stadium. At City Park, meanwhile, Temperance-Cities takes on Police – with all the games starting at 18h35.
A full round of fixtures will take place this weekend.
