DHL Western Province U21 made it two wins from two games this season with a 25-20 victory against Vodacom Bulls U21 at City Park on Saturday.
The defending champions backed up their opening win against Hollywoodbets Sharks U21 in Durban last week with a hard-fought win on home turf in the North-South clash.
The visitors were first to score, but DHL Western Province U21 responded with tries from captain Paul de Villiers and scrumhalf Imad Khan, who scored from a quick tap and converted to give them a 12-7 lead at the break.
Vodacom Bulls U21 were back on level terms early in the second half, but a penalty from Khan and a third try by replacement Deano Boesak saw the home side take control.
The visitors scored another try to bring themselves back into it, but Khan would have the final say with a late penalty sealing the five-point win.
