Tough away tussle for SK Walmers

Western Province club side, SK Walmers are bracing themselves for a tough away clash in the 2013 Cell C Community Cup.

 

The team from Bo-Kaap beat United Bulk Villagers Worcester by 49-26 last weekend but face a tough battle away from home against Aveng Moolmans Sishen in Kathu this Saturday.

The SK squad traveled from Cape Town by bus – leaving on Wednesday night and arriving on Thursday morning. They had a short stretch and flush-out session on Hoffe Park on Thursday afternoon.

Flyhalf Adnaan Oesman – who contributed 29 points last week – will again skipper the SK team, with No.8 Jody Burch backing him up.

Changes this week are at centre (Winston Williams in at No.12) and at prop (Sameer Davids starting at loosehead). The new faces on the bench are Ashraf Williams, Pieter Niewoudt and Zubair Du Plessis.

This will be SK”s second match of the competition, having had a bye week in Round One (last month). The top two teams from the four pools in the Community Cup qualify for the televised Easter Play-offs, scheduled for Outeniqua Park from March 28 to April 1.
