The 2015 President’s Cup Final will take place at DHL Newlands on Heritage Day (Thursday, September 24), with three finals taking place. We bring you all the rules and regulations in case of any the finals finish in a draw after regulation time.
In all, three club finals will be played at DHL Newlands on Thursday, as the knockout champions of 2015 will be crowned across the Super League A, B and C divisions.
Hamiltons moved into the SLA Final with a 34-18 win over False Bay on Saturday, September 19, whilst defending champions (and Cell C Community Cup champs), Durb-Bell, scored a 22-7 win over the Maties from Stellenbosch. The SLA Final will kick-off at 16h00.
In the SLB Final, Union Milnerton will take on Hands & Heart at 14h15, with Thursday’s first bit of action seeing Kraaifontein and Young Stars go head-to-head at 12h30 in the SLC Final.
ALL THE FINALS DAY RULES AND REGULATIONS:
– The finals played at DHL Newlands will consist of 35 minutes a half.
– Where teams arrive late, the referee should play two halves of equal time.
– If it is not possible to play at least 20 minutes per half, the game must officially be called off by the referee and points awarded to the non-defaulting team.
– In the event of first teams having equal points after the final whistle, the winner will be determined as follows:
Clubs will nominate three kickers who will each have one opportunity to kick for poles.
In the event that the score remains equal after three attempts then there will be sudden death.
Each team will once again nominate new kickers who will each have one opportunity to kick for poles.
The kick for poles will start off on the 22m line (left, middle, right). During sudden death kicks will move 10 metres back.
Only the players on the field after the final whistle may be nominated to participate in the sudden death.
