2015 President’s Cup Finals Day line-up confirmed

PUBLISHED: September 21, 2015

The 2015 President’s Cup Final will take place at DHL Newlands on Heritage Day (Thursday, September 24), with Hamiltons and Durb-Bell contesting the Super League A Final after some exciting semifinal results this past weekend.

In all, three club finals will be played at DHL Newlands on Thursday, as the knockout champions of 2015 will be crowned across the Super League A, B and C divisions.

Hamiltons moved into the SLA Final with a 34-18 win over False Bay on Saturday, September 19, whilst defending champions (and Cell C Community Cup champs), Durb-Bell, scored a 22-7 win over the Maties from Stellenbosch. The SLA Final will kick-off at 16h00.

In the SLB Final, Union Milnerton will take on Hands & Heart at 14h15, with Thursday’s first bit of action seeing Kraaifontein and Young Stars go head-to-head at 12h30 in the SLC Final.

The on-field excitement aside, there is plenty on the go for the committed club rugby fans coming to DHL Newlands on Thursday, with R30,000 worth of prizes and prize money up for grabs for the best dressed SUPER FAN!

As an added bonus, the entire DHL Western Province matchday squad – to take on the Pumas at DHL Newlands on Saturday – will also be present at the 2015 President’s Cup Finals Day to show their support to the six clubs in action, as well as their amazing supporters.

Entry to DHL Newlands is just R10 in what will be a fun day out for the entire family, with a unique bring and braai theme on the day… and why not, with it being Heritage Day? For those supporters wanting a more relaxed approach, food and beverages will also be on sale throughout the day.

The WPRFU President’s Cup Finals Day is presented by WP Rugby and sponsors Totalsports, the Treble Group, Castle Lager, Powerade, DHL, Builders Warehouse, Deep Heat and TJ’s – without this amazing support, such a great day’s rugby would not be possible. And thanks must also go to media partners, Cape Town TV, Good Hope, Bok Radio and Die Burger, for their additional support.
